The cistern must be installed by a qualified plumber in accordance with AS/NZS 3500. Installation is the same as a regular cistern and requires the addition of an electrical power source for the Odourless by Expella system. Have a qualified electrician install a general power outlet within 3.5 meters of cable length to the cistern. Brackets are included with cisterns for wall-mount pans.

The Odourless by Expella system is secured within an ultrasonically welded ABS plastic case and does not require maintenance. As with all electrical products, access to the adaptor is recommended. All cistern components (inlet valve, flush valve and Odourless by Expella system) are accessible by removing the flush plate.

The Odourless by Expella system uses a small fan installed in the cistern to extract air from the toilet bowl, this fan is faintly audible when in operation. The sound is slightly higher pitched than a ceiling exhaust fan due to its size, however it is quieter than a celling fan and far more effective at removing odour than a ceiling fan or inline exhaust system. We recommend that the Odourless by Expella system is only switched on when the toilet is in use, it should not run 24/7. It can be activated using our PIR Motion Sensor Ceiling Switch or a regular wall switch. Refer to our product fact sheets for noise data and switching information.
