We are honoured to have been recognised with a prestigious Gold Accolade at the 2021 Good Design Awards – the highest honour for design and innovation in Australia.

Our Shadowline Diffuser was a winner in the Product Design category, impressing a jury of more than 70 local and international experts including designers, engineers, architects and thought leaders.

So what is it?

The Shadowline Diffuser is a discreet ventilation solution for bathrooms and laundries, as the exhaust diffuser is housed inside the ceiling at the ‘shadow line’, or the junction with the wall. The concept was also recently adapted for use in air conditioning systems, making it even more versatile and effective product.

The Good Design Awards Jury commented on the Shadowline Diffuser saying, “this is a great innovation that achieves the design intent of being nearly invisible after installation, without compromising on ventilation.”

It’s the second consecutive year that Expella has won at the Good Design Awards, after the Milu Odourless Toilet and Humidity Sensor were recognised in 2020. What are the Good Design Awards?

The Good Design Awards are Australia’s oldest and most prestigious international awards for design and innovation, with a proud history dating back to 1958.
